On Monday, I had the pleasure of listening to the delegation of a group of mums from the White Oaks area, at the Environment and Transportation Committee meeting. And as a publicly outspoken pedestrian advocate, I was proud of them.

I'm mostly pretty much of a skeptic when it comes to things like Earth Hour and Earth Day. One-off events like these let people pretend that they're responsible, for minimum effort. But there's an initiative that I've come across related to this year's Earth Day that I think is kind of cool, and it attempts to raise the public's awareness and goad politicians into doing more without being self-indulgent.  read more »
