LondonCommons.net poster

Here's a poster that I made up for LondonCommons.net.  This image is kinda low-res so I'd recommend printing from the attached .svg file.  You can open that file in Inkscape (free download for Linux/Windows/Mac) and even take the poster and make it better!

It doesn't look like the Creative Commons license selection tool is working right now.. they're having problems at the creativecommons.org site.  So I'm manually inserting a license tag for now.

that's awesome Jer!

It would be neat to follow in the footsteps of music for no one and have our posters feature local art (which would of course be posted to the site first).

Maybe it could be a second batch kind of thing, get the first batch of posters out there so everyone recognizes the logo and then add the art.

Regardless, I like it!

I would tend to agree

I think it would be a great idea to give local artists a venue within which to display their work. Yes, logos are good and there is something to be said for consistancy, but at the same time fine art attracts attention and nothing prevents the logo from being placed somewhere on the poster, probably where the text begins.

I would be proud to offer some of my work for this purpose (I work in encaustics).

Cheers

Charles

i like the idea of having a symbol that is recognizable as london commons and does not change... so that if i is visible all over town people can see the symbol and know its london commons, promoting awareness of the site and other future projects. a static image that says: london commons
