Well, maybe your salvation is on the way to a corner near you.
Trek bikes has debuted its stand-alone vending machine selling things like patch kits, tubes, water bottles, and energy bars. It even has a air pump!

I think this might even be as simple to implement as filling a regular vending machine with bike bits, some accessories and trail mix. Err, I mean 'Cliff bars'.
