Take
Action to Create New Policy in London - People before Profits

On May
26th, the Environmental Transportation Committee will discuss the possibility
of eliminating bottled water in city buildings. Depending on the outcome of
this meeting, London Council may enter into the same debate. This
is an opportunity
to empower council to make a decision based on people not
profits for the water bottling industry.

Please
take the time to call or write your councillor, asking them to eliminate/ban
bottled water from city owned buildings (see contact info below).

Roland
Welker, P. Eng. Manager, Water Engineering Division, City of London stated the
following: "You have noted some municipalities that are actively
pursuing reduction or elimination through education, voluntary measures, policy
and by-laws. These are certainly
options available for London as well.

The Town
of The Blue Mountains, Ontario passed a motion to ban bottled water at town
events and meetings "in the name of what is right and good for the
environment" passed in October 2007. London can also be a part
