Bike Polo
so im sure we all know what polo is but what about on bikes. i was wondering if i could get some people to play some polo on a regular basis here in london. if people are already playing, just tell me where and i'll be there. otherwise, what we would need to find is an area which is enclosed by either linked fence, wood, concrete,... about the size of a tennis court with either a tarmac or concrete surface to play on. some people do play on grass but ive found the caged version a little more fun. there are a few places that i know of that are fully enclosed (which is best) but they are either in poor condition or are used to frequently by others who play regular sports, but we could easily play on them. now you're probably wondering what this sport looks like, there are plenty of videos on youtube.com. Check these out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDkSG1GoZqY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKuGUEEKTXI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lyC6i71pPM Now there are a few places where you can find out more info on it. www.bikepolo.ca - Vancouver (East Van) Urban Bike Polo seattlebikepolo.com - Seattle Urban Polo www.bikepolo.com - US Bike Polo Association California for people who play on grass www.bicyclepolo.org - American Bike Polo Association also for people who play on grass The first two sites are the best i think. The Vancouver site has the rules for urban polo if you click on the game link. what im looking for is a place to play thats convenient for people and also where people can see us play. I've got mallets, balls, polo balls, pylons all i need are people to play. i can show you how to make mallets. just look for places to play and we'll set it up on this forum. please fell free to email me about it. jimmybjames@gmail.com JJB
