Greenpeace-London information & organising meeting
Tolpuddle Labour Co-op Common Room, 380 Adelaide St. N Description: Greenpeace Canada will be hosting a public meeting for Londoners who are interested in taking up the fight against the Liberal government's plans for more nuclear reactors in Ontario -- in favour of greener and cheaper energy sources. When: July 18, 6:30pm Where: Tolpuddle Labour Co-operative Common Room 380 Adelaide St. N (Between Dundas and King, across from the police station) Please join us for an evening of discussion and organising with Shawn-Patrick Stensil- Greenpeace Energy Campaigner. Shawn-Patrick will give a brief presentation on energy issues in the province of Ontario, and then lead a discussion on how we can bring about change.
The goal is for volunteers in London to form a Greenpeace Green Team. As a part of a Green Team, you will help encourage Ontarians and the Ontario government to choose a green energy future for this province through public education. The key message is that we CAN meet our energy needs without coal or nuclear power.
Help Greenpeace, alongside a number of other environmental organizations, implement a plan to for a green energy path for Ontario. Say no to Dalton McGuinty's plan to spend over $40 billion to expand the nuclear power program, and NO to John Tory's plan to spend even more on the same dirty, overpriced nuclear plants. Our goal is to educate and inspire individuals to take action in the lead up to and during the next provincial election on October 10th.Please r.s.v.p. to Angela at angela.woodcock@yto.greenpeace.org
Hope to see lots of you there,
Rob Hepburn
