Lead in our Water?

So, I just received an email from my Mom (Thank-you) about the levels of lead in our water. There was a front page spread(pdf) in the LFPress this morning on the topic.
Has anyone had their water tested recently? If we were to have our water tested and it turns out it has high levels of lead content , is our landlord obligated to change the piping? In addition, if he refuses or he takes his time changing the piping do we have the right to demand he purchase bottled water (Culligan or something like that) for us?
***What should Tenants do about their situation?***
You can call 519-661-4739 to get the testing done free.
***A Tenants Union would be really beneficial in a situation like this.***

Yikes!
Thanks Jeff!
I live inside the red lines on the LFP front page.
I think that the city is
I think that the city is taking a very nonchalant attitude regarding this issue. I have been reading how they may magnanamously go "sharsies" on pipe replacement, and how there is little to worry about. Jerks to the end, those guys! I am wondering when someone will get the idea to gather together a class and sue the city bankrupt. After all, how long have they being supplying tainted water? How many people have already been harmed by this. I lived for some time in the old north. I may even consider joining a class if it were to come about. As much as they like to hide their heads in the dirt, the city is liable in that it is responsible for the quality of the water we drink. Remember Walkerton? I know the city would argue that this is different....but is it??
