I've been going through some of my old negatives and scanning some of my favourites that never made it to a scanner for one reason or another.
These ones are from an Anti-war rally that occurred a few days after the invasion of Iraq in 2003. These are pictures that I missed the first time I scanned these rolls or thought I couldn't get a decent picture out of...
Around the US consulate, things got a little ruckus, with mud, snowballs, bottles, etc, being thrown at the police who had erected a barricade of crowd control fences across the narrow street in front of the building (rue Saint-Alexandre I think?).
Normally, I wouldn't post a photo so out-of-focus and poorly exposed... but this picture shows some of the 'etc.' being thrown. Yup, those are panties on a cop's head. That's just good stuff.
I didn't think much of this one until I scanned it this time around. I guess it just didn't jump out at me the first time through... I dunno, I like it. I think it's a pretty cool portrait.
I forgot all about this shot. I remember taking it, but I thought it was so under exposed that it would never be useable. It turns out that the exposure was pretty good... Now that I've rediscovered it and scanned it, I think it's one of my favourites!
Here's a link to the first batch of photos from this demonstration.
