rag and bone kills it

There isn't really too much to say about it...

the design really speaks for itself.

It's a steampunk inspired six wheeler, with tons of

storage room and attitude to match.

I love it.  read more »

Worlds fastest supercomputer runs linux

"IBM and Los Alamos National Laboratory break a processing speed record with the world's first petaflop computer, Roadrunner " - Wikipedia

I had to look up what a petaflop is, and I still don't quite get it, but I think I 've grasped it enough to know that it's really fast (10 to the power of 15 flops - a calculator averages about 10 flops).  read more »

Phun Physics

Embedded video:

I just stumbled across a very interesting 2D physics simulation program.
I have never seen anything like it before and I think it's really interesting.

From the description at Geekologie.com :

"Phun is a 2D physics environment where you can build/destroy and
otherwise have a jolly good time with all sorts of objects (including
your own). It was programmed by Emil Ernerfeldt (awesome name) of Umeå
University for his CS thesis. It really is awesome and the perfect way
to piss away several days at work."  read more »

Cocaine vaccine?

tags:

So apparently they are attempting to develop a vaccine to treat cocaine addiction.. should be interesting...

This is an excerpt from the article on CBC News:

"For people who have a desire to stop using, the vaccine should be very useful," said Dr. Tom Kosten, a psychiatry professor at Baylor College of Medicine who is being assisted in the research by his wife, Therese, a psychologist and neuroscientist. "At some point, most users will give in to temptation and relapse, but those for whom the vaccine is effective won't get high and will lose interest."  read more »

I just stumbled upon a series of spoofs of the famous pc-mac commercials from a little while ago.

Unlike all the other spoofs, these really cracked me up. It could perhaps have a little to do with the apperance the embodiment of linux.

This is for all you linux and mac heads on here:

Progressive Rehabilitation Methods?

I caught a little snippet in the London Free Press the other day about a video on youtube that has been getting a lot of attention as of late and decided to investigate a little.

The video, uploaded by a prison worker in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Cebu, Philippines, shows about 1,500 inmates doing a choreographed dance routine to Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

...and it's actually quite good.

The CPDRC stars (many in jail for drug charges) have become quite popular on Youtube and have done several other videos, a few to the music from Whoopi Goldberg's "Sister Act", a Japanese algorithm march and even one to the Black Eyed Peas!!  read more »
