What is a Progressive (politically)?

(Check out Campaign for America's Future website which is asking the same question in an American context to get the ideas flowing.) 

My comments are very personal and one’s I take very serious in a serious discussion which is what I hoped to engage in regarding the subject material I brought up.

I feel for a reason beyond my understanding, on the part of some members of this website, this has been compromised and further discussion would be fruitless.

In my view, there are clearly many inter personal concerns that are occurring in many responses to my posts that I do not understand.

Since personal attacks are not tolerated (limited free speech), does language that is demeaning to a social groups of individuals constitute a personal attack even if they are not members of this website.

Example: "I was at the show last night and the band was a bunch of pussies and the crowd was full of faggots."

In this example has nobody who is a member of the website community been attacked since they have not been called these things directly?

Has not every women and queer person been directly attacked by the nature of their social group?   read more »

So not to derail the converstation Stephen Maynard office opening on local elections I decided to start this thread to explore the use of the word 'pussy' as 'fighting words' on that thread by members of the LC.

Thoughts?
