Hey all,

The day is approaching very quickly so I thought to
create a thread for organizing the trip to Montreal for the Anarchist
Bookfair which is held May 17-18.

This is the biggest Anarchist
Bookfair in North America, and as I saw last year and year before it
gets bigger every year, and it's REALLY REALLY FUN! You don't have to
buy anything if you don't want to, it's nice to just hang out and enjoy

I heard through grapevine that there will be a demonstration for labour solidarity with Palestine tommorrow at Gibbons Park,but I can't find any information anywhere.

Does anyone know if it is really happenning?

Hardly believable news here! It made my day.

Looks like they are getting back together for the festival,but its wiked.

Maybe they couldn't keep their mouth shut while the world gets worse and worse.

I just watched the German film Metropolis (1927) for my film class, and I must say that I was completely blown away. It is hardly believable that it was made in 1927 with its visual technology and relevancy of its ideological message to the present society. And its spiritual anti-authoritarian message was so powerful. There were tons of other wicked anti-facism, pro-worlers implications in the film. 

I also read the article about the movie after, and found out that some critisized the movie very harshly, for instance HG Wells described it as the siliest film ever, but some phraised it. There was also division between critics about weather the it is a communist film or a socialist film. And the most notably, and real oddly, Hitler liked the film and asked the director to make nazi propaganda films, which he refused and fled germany afterwards leaving his wife who eventually joins Nazi party after he fled (some heavy story here...)  read more »

Hey folks,

Food Not Bombs will be providing meals at the demonstration against Canada's presence in Afgahnistan on Saturday the October 28th.

And I'm thinking of organizing a cook-up on Friday the 27th around 2pm, then serve it next day at the Victoria Park 1:30pm, a half and an hour before the demonstration.

We need at least 3 people for a cook-up and 2 for aserving, but as if we have more,it would be funner, quicker and the food will be tastier (yay!)

The cook up will take place at my palce, but I don't have so much space to accompany a group of people. So it would be great if anyone could volunteer to have us cook on Friday afternnon.  read more »
